The History of Food collection of the Allard Pierson is one of the largest gastronomic collections in Europe. It includes virtually all influential Dutch cookbooks and a growing number of foreign ones. In addition, the collection contains books on dietetics, nutrition, home economics, etiquette and numerous other gastronomic subjects. It also includes manuscripts, flyers, archives and menus.
As a Gastronomic Friend, you make an annual donation to the Allard Pierson. For administrative reasons, this is only possible by direct debit.
Your contribution is used to maintain and expand the museum's gastronomic collections. And for that we are very grateful to you! As a Gastronomic Friend, you will receive various benefits, including special Friends' Receptions and an exclusive gastronomic meeting once a year.
We warmly invite you to bring a family member or acquaintance, who is not yet a Friend of the Museum, to the meetings you are invited to. It provides a great opportunity for your guest to get to know the museum and it is an enjoyable way of sharing a common interest, together with like-minded people. Double the fun!
Depending on the event, your guest can attend for free or at a discount. More information is to be found in the relevant invitation.
Become a Gastronomic Friend too!
And share your passion with us and with other lovers of culinary traditions. This way, we will inspire each other and others to discover new perspectives, broaden our view of the world, and understand how the past shapes our present and future.
