For higher education

The collections curators of the Allard Pierson are able to provide a presentation of materials on request as part of academic training for teaching professionals. These presentations take place in a specially equipped room next to the reading room, for groups of up to 15 attendees.

There are two options:

  • A tailor-made presentation of a type of collection or representative objects by the curator. Students are given a first impression of a collection or a type of heritage objects by the curator;
  • A guest talk as part of a specialism, with the lecturer selecting objects related to the subject's theme. The lecturer compiles a list of possible objects for discussion with the curator. The curator facilitates the presentation by preparing the selected objects and overseeing the event.

Requests are to be submitted to the collections curators in question. Check the collection descriptions for an impression of the various themes and collections. Consult this page for the contact details of our collections curators.

Please note: due to the large number of talks and the availability of the space, it is important to bear in mind the following deadlines when submitting your request: one month for a presentation and two months for a guest talk.
