    Requesting a reproduction

    Digital images of printed works before 1900 can be requested using the request link (request digitisation) in CataloguePlus. If you are unable to request reproductions through CataloguePlus, please contact the Reading Room.

    Credit line

    Digital images may only be reproduced in publications if accompanied by the following credit line: Allard Pierson - University of Amsterdam, shelf mark. In case of a paper publication, a proof copy must be sent to Allard Pierson, Onderzoekzaal, Oude Turfmarkt 127-129, 1012 GC Amsterdam.
    For archaeological objects, the inventory number should be given: [APM12345] 

     

    Charges

    Standard scans of material are €15 per image, with a maximum of €150 for each book to be digitised. As a rule, digitization is made in TIFF format (at 300 dpi). Payment can be made via iDeal or credit card for online requests. For other requests, an invoice will be sent. We can provide customisation according to requirements. The delivery time for single items is fourteen days. The delivery time for digitising a whole book is to be agreed.

    Taking photographs yourself

    Material from the Allard Pierson may be photographed using your own camera or smartphone. The use of flash and tripod is not allowed, and images are for personal use only. These images too are subject to copyright.

    Copyright

    Copyright law covers works of literature, science and art up to 70 years after the death of the creator. Publication of material held by the Allard Pierson that is subject to copyright requires permission from the copyright holder. The library is not liable for copyright infringements.
