Loan conditions
The borrower must be able to comply with the general loan conditions of the Allard Pierson and with any special conditions that apply to particular loans or objects.
It is important to submit loan applications as early as possible, at least six months before the start of the requested loan period. Requests within the six-month period can unfortunately no longer be processed. If you have any questions about loans, send an email to our registrars. Send an e-mail.
Catalogue
Selecting the objects that you would like will speed up dealing with a loan application. Consult the University of Amsterdam catalogue. Staff at the reception desk in the Special Collections Reading Room can assist you in your selection. They will also be able to arrange contact with the curators on factual questions.
Loan applications
The Allard Pierson has declared a loan stop from February 1st 2025. The loan stop will run from 1 February 2025 to 1 January 2026.
Official loan requests can be submitted through our digital loan request form. You can address the letter of request to Dr. Stijn van Rossum, head of the collections department.
Only fully completed forms that are submitted before the six-months period will be dealt with.
