The Allard Pierson is located on Oude Turfmarkt, a car-free boulevard in the centre of Amsterdam, between Rokin, Muntplein and the Amstel.

The Allard Pierson is fully accessible for all types of wheelchairs and rollators. All floors can be reached by lift. There are several disabled toilets in the building.

By bicycle

There is a large bicycle parking under Rokin, which has direct access to Rokin metro station. To access, check in and out with an OV chip card or debit card. The first 24 hours are free, each additional day costs €1,40.

Public transport

From Central Station: tram lines 4 and 14 (Rokin stop) and metro 52 (Rokin station).

By boat

Rederij P. Kooij has a jetty right in front of our main entrance.

Loading and unloading

Loading and unloading is possible until 11 am at Oude Turfmarkt 141. After that time, loading and unloading must be registered.

By car

The Allard Pierson is located on a car-free boulevard. There are several car parks nearby:

P2: Kalverstraat car park - Singel 451c
P3: The Bank Rembrandtplein - Amstelstraat 12
P4: Q-Park Bijenkorf - Beursplein 15
P5: Parkbee Keizersgracht - Keizersgracht 485
P6: Muziektheater car park - Waterlooplein 28

Low-cost parking can be found on the outskirts of the city, in one of the Park & Ride locations on the Amsterdam ring road (A10 motorway). From there, it is easy to travel by public transport to the city centre and the Allard Pierson. More information on parking in Amsterdam can be found here.
