Themed funds

A themed fund is an existing named fund that is open to donations from a number of donors. These themed funds focus on a specific collection area or activities.

Below is an overview of the themed funds you can contribute to.

Fonds Artis Bibliotheek: supports the Allard Pierson Artis Library and its collections;

Fonds Medisch Erfgoed: supports in particular projects in the field of medical heritage within the Allard Pierson collections;

Fonds voor de Joodse boekwetenschap: supports activities in the field of Jewish book studies, including the maintenance of a special chair of ‘The History of the Jewish Book’ at the University of Amsterdam;

Frankvoort-Van der Meer Fonds: supports in particular the circus collection of the Allard Pierson;

Jansonius Fonds voor Historische Cartografie: supports the cartographic collections of the Allard Pierson;

Mr. Herman de la Fontaine Verwey Fonds: supports activities in the field of Amsterdam book studies, including the maintenance of a special chair of ‘Manuscript Studies in Relation to the History of Civilisation, with a specific focus on the Medieval Period ’ at the University of Amsterdam;

Rosenthal Fonds: supports in particular the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana of the Allard Pierson;

Th.J. Steenbergenfonds voor de Amsterdamse Gouden Eeuw: supports the collections of the Allard Pierson in the field of the Golden Age;

Wim Crouwel Fonds: supports collection development, management and (digital) accessibility of graphic design and typography collections of the Allard Pierson and promotes education and research with and presentation of these collections;

Walter Frankvoort Fonds voor het Nederlandse fotoboek: supports the Allard Pierson in acquiring, maintaining and making accessible a collection of Dutch photobooks.

You can set up your own Fund in Name from €25,000. With a named Fund, you contribute to the future of the Allard Pierson in a very personal way. With a named Fund, you preserve a family name or honour a loved one.
